World Superbikes - Phillip Island Race Two

The second race of the Phillip Island meet was a two horse race between Haga and Spies, with the latter showing his true potential on the Yamaha R1 machine by powering to the win over the final laps.
Haga cruised to the checquered flag to secure second place and become the early leader of the championship following his impressive win in race one.
The podium was completed by Brit Leon Haslam who showed great form to beat off competition from the two Ducatis of Regis Laconi and Michel Fabrizio and claim third spot at the line. The battle for third did also include Max Biaggi, but going into the final lap the Italian slid off into the gravel, eventually recovering to finish 15th.
