World Superbikes Championship - Brands Hatch Preview

July 31, 2008

The iconic Brands Hatch circuit hosts the latest round of the Word Superbikes championship this weekend, in what promises to be an exciting weekend of racing.

It is the first of two visits to UK circuits in under a month, and the Kent circuit is renowned for attracting crowds in excess of 100,000.

The rider’s championship looks all but sewn up after Troy Bayliss’ double win in Brno, his third this season, giving him an almost unassailable lead of 79 points. Nearest to catching the Australian is Max Neukirchner, who can be pleased with his performances so far but will need more wins to be in with a chance of matching Bayliss’ Championship leading form.

The next closest competitor is Troy Corser, the Yamaha rider showing great consistency to keep himself in with a slim chance of taking the championship. 36-year old Corser has notched up an impressive four second place finishes in the last four rounds.

The tenth round of the Word Superbikes championship will take place on August 3.
