Along with the launch of their new website, the organisers of the World Superbike Championship are opening up to the online community and releasing exclusive videos of race coverage from each round of this season’s Championship on Youtube. Race One
Australian Troy Bayliss put in an impressive performance to clinch victory in the first race in Qatar. From 8th position on the first lap, he moved through the field to set up a thrilling battle with Max Biaggi on the final lap, with the Italian running slightly wide allowing Bayliss to steal through for a hard fought win.
Race Two
Fonsi Nieto recorded his first ever World SBK win, ultimately winning a battle with Ruben Xaus and Max Biaggi. Xaus and Biaggi shared spells in the lead but neither could shake off the challenge of Nieto, who powered through with 3 laps to go and held on for a famous win.
