The BMW S1000RR Superbike

September 18, 2008

This is the bike that the new BMW team will be racing in the 2009 season of the World Superbikes Championship.

It still appears to be a concept bike at this stage, but news is that 1000 bikes will be in dealers at the end of 2009 to meet World Superbikes requirements and allow them to enter the 2009 racing season.

The road version is understood to be a 190kg, 190bhp bike with a quickshifter, Ohlin shocks and Brembo brakes. However, not much official has been said about the racing bike bike so it is simply a case of ‘wait and see’ at the moment.
