Team Go Big Racing Drop Out Of Championship

April 8, 2008

All-Canadian team Go Big Racing last week announced that they will no longer be competing in the Parts Canada Superbikes Championship due to problems in securing adequate sponsorship deals for the forthcoming 2008 season.

The team had a highly successful 2007 and looked on course to repeat - if not better - that feat this year, but these surprising financial difficulties have meant team operators Paul Glenn and Ross Millson announced the split effective immediately.

“It’s not something anyone wanted to see happen,” said Millson, “but after some lengthy discussions we felt this was the best solution for this team and its members, to salvage the season as individuals.”

“We were in talks with a number of outstanding companies about marketing with the team and were confident new sponsors were imminent,” stated Glenn. “However, due to the the rise of the Canadian dollar and the economic outlook for 2008 many of the opportunities were sidelined.”

In the 2007 Parts Canada Superbike Championship Millson had a very strong pro debut, finishing 3rd in the Pro Rookie league and 11th overall in the final Superbike standings.

The Go Big Racing team had even more success in other events in the Championship, finishing on the Sport Twins (ST) podium in nearly every round, eventually finishing second in the Sport Twins Championship.
