Szoke Ends Jennings Test On A High

Jordan Szoke looks set to challenge for a fourth successive Parts Canada Superbikes Championship after he finished this week’s official Pirelli tyre test at JenningsGP in Jennings, Fla. The Kawasaki rider proved quickest over the two-day event, setting a new lap record in the process.
Szoke’s closest rivals were nearly a full second off his pace in the first session, showing that the Ontario-based rider is fully focused on mounting a serious title defence in 2009. The final session saw him not quite on the same pace, though the weather was warmer for the afternoon session.
Szoke explained:
“I had the perfect lap until going into the esses I got wide, and if you don’t get it right to start with you screw it all up. I also think I could have been more aggressive through the last corner. The bike felt fantastic and I think if it had been 10 degrees cooler I could have gone faster than this morning.”
The 2009 Parts Canada Superbike Championship begins on May 21-24 at Calabogie Motorsports Park.
