Speculation Continues Over BSB 2009 Team Lineups

October 29, 2008

With a large exodus of the top riders to the World Superbikes stage, team lineups for the 2009 British Superbikes season are still in limbo with many riders and teams still deciding on what’s best for them.

James Ellison and Leon Camier have agreed a deal to ride for the GSE Racing Yamaha team, Sylvain Guintoli will be moving to Crescent Suzuki to replace Atsushe Watanabe, who moves to Relentless Suzuki by TAS. And the latest confirmed transfers are those of Australians Glen Richards and Josh Brookes to the HM Plant Honda team.

BSB riders yet to sign a new contract for 2009 include Daily Star Cup champion John Laverty who had a storming season on his Superstock regulation Ducati, regularly finishing among the Superbike riders in the top ten. Will this form see him earn a ride in the superbike championship for 2009?

Another rider currently without a team is Simon Andrews, the former Lloyds British Yamaha rider desperate for a factory ride to mount a serious championship challenge.

With plenty of teams still without riders you can be sure there will be plenty of stories regarding rider moves over the coming months!
