New BMW Team To Be A Serious Contender
December 29, 2008
The new World Superbikes team from BMW has started pre-season with clear intentions, as initial news coming from the camp shows them to be serious contenders immediately. Not only do they have two of the most successful riders in the championship next year, but the brand new bike they will be riding in 2009 looks to be a serious threat too.
The S1000RR has been tested twice by veteran rider Troy Corser so far, with the double World Superbikes Championship winner recording a lap time at Kyalami just 1.4 seconds off the fastest ever lap there, and this at the very beginning of pre season suggesting there will still be vast steps forward for the new team over the coming months.
