Neukirchner Returns To The Scene Of The Crime In Valencia
March 31, 2009
In last year’s World Superbikes Championship race in Valencia, Alstare Suzuki rider was having the weekend of his life, until the very last lap when a clash with Carlos Checa knocked the German from his bike and out of the race. A broken collarbone ensured he couldn’t take part in the second race.
However, Neukirchner bounced back from this early season incident to become a real force in racing by the end of teh 2008 season, and he will be particular eager to prove himself at the track that ruined his previous season.
What Else?“Last year in Valencia, I was on the verge of taking my first ever WSBK victory until the very last corner of the very last lap. Then I was hit by Carlos Checa and crashed, breaking my collarbone in the process. As that happened in the first race, it meant that I also missed the second race. So it wasn’t a good end to what had been a very good weekend up to that moment. Valencia is quite a technical circuit and one that is quite hard physically because you hardly get any chance to rest on a lap. But I like the track and my goal is to finish both races and get on the podium.”
