HM Plant Honda Riders Perform Well In Portimao WSB

November 8, 2008

BSB riders Leon Haslam and Cal Crutchlow ventured into the World Superbikes setup again last weekend, proving to be able to compete at the top level. Leon Haslam had the better weekend out of the two, managing an impressive 3rd place in race two.

Tyre performance played a big part in both races - Haslam struggled in the first race but still finished 7th before his podium finish in the second race. Crutchlow wasn’t as lucky in race one, as the young Brit was forced into early retirement, while race two saw him finish a respectable ninth.

Both riders showed they have the strength and skill to compete on the world stage, and both riders will now be preparing for the 2009 season as they leave HM Plant Honda to move up to the World Superbikes Championship. Meanwhile HM Plant Honda will now be concentrating on reclaiming the British Superbikes title for 2009.
