Haga Scores Double Win At Valencia

April 16, 2009

Noriyuki Haga dominated both races earlier this month at Valencia to score an emphatic double win at the Ricardo Tormo circuit. The Ducati Xerox rider now sits at the top of the rider’s championship with 135 points after 3 rounds of the 2009 World Superbikes Championship.

A 65,000-strong crowd witnessed the Japanese rider notch up his 35th and 36th wins of his World Superbikes career. Haga’s teammate Michele Fabrizio also came out of the weekend on a positive note, scoring podium finishes in both races (2nd in race one and 3rd in race two). The remaining podium places went to Max Neukirchner (3rd in race one) and World Superbikes rookie Ben Spies (2nd in race two).
