First Tests of 2009 to Take Place At Portimao

Three days of testing have been officially confirmed to take place at the newly built Autodromo do Algarve circuit in Portimao, Portugal. The testing takes place from January 23rd to 25th.
The Portimao circuit was the venue of the final round of World superbike racing in 2008, proving to be an exciting and tough track that saw some spectacular highlights over that final weekend.
January will see all the teams entered into the 2009 championship use the 3 day event to test out new bikes and rider lineups before the start of the racing season in March, in what promises to be an exciting precurser to the 2009 competition.
