August 31, 2008

Colin Edwards has renewed his contract by one year with Tech 3 Yamaha, riding alongside James Toseland.

Edwards, (34) has had a great run so far this year, managing two podium finishes, with two podium finishes, four top 5 finishes and one pole position so far.

“His contribution to our improvement has been very important for the team,” said Yamaha chief Lin Jarvis.

“Colin played an important role in 2008 pre-season development. We’re very happy to have retained him for 2009.”

2009 will be Edwards’s fifth season for Yamaha, contributing some of the most consistent performances in the championship.  Edwards so far has not won a race, but has scored points in all but 10 of his 94 MotoGP races.
