DFX Team Make Changes For 2009
November 24, 2008
The DFX Corse team have announced the capture of French rider Regis Laconi for the 2009 World Superbikes season, with the option of extending the deal into 2010. On top of this, after 3 years running on Honda machines, the team run by Daniel Carli will be switching manufacturer to Ducati.
Laconi is considered one of the ‘veterans’ of World Superbikes - the 33-year old has raced in a total 167 WSB races, taking 7 poles and winning 11 races. The Frenchman’s best Championship position came in 2004 when he finished runner-up to teammate James Toseland. However this year he could only manage 16th in the rider’s championship, with his best result an eighth place finish at Valencia.
