Watch Brands Hatch BSB On Channel 4

Channel 4 will be presenting the highlights of the latest round of British Superbikes action from Brands Hatch tonight at a slightly earlier than usual time of half past midnight. This is a slight step in the right direction for avid BSB followers, as previous highlights shows have been well into the dead of night.

The Brands Hatch round had been earlier cancelled due to heavy snowfall, but this rescheduling couldn’t have arrived on a nicer day of weather, with soaring temperatures and blistering action in both races. [read more]

World Superbikes Championship - Monza

Max Neukirchner and Noriyuki Haga shared the wins in an amazing day of racing at Monza today in front of a record crowd of over 112,000 spectators. Both races went down to final lap sprints as all the major riders attempted to take advantage of competitive racing conditions in the fifth round of the World Superbikes Championship. [read more]

Bayliss Sets New Lap Record in Monza Qualifying

Ducati Xerox rider Troy Bayliss simply stole the show in Monza today to record yet another convincing Superpole win, his third in five races this season.

The Australian produced a breathtaking lap to break the circuit record at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza with a time of 1 minute 44.931 seconds. The nearest rider to Bayliss was an ever improving Max Neukirchner, the German Suzuki Alstare rider recording a time 3 tenths of a second off Bayliss’ pace. [read more]

Watch Highlights of BSB at Oulton Park

The weekend’s racing at Oulton Park, dominated by Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne, will be availble to watch in ‘highlights mode’ late on Tuesday night / Wednesday morning at 2am on Channel 4.

Terrestrial coverage of the championship is once again pushed back into the early hours which makes those people who cried out over the new TV deals look increasingly right. While there is certainly more coverageacross the globe planned, it appears that the core UK audience are slowly beginning to lose out on what will in all probability be a thrilling British Superbikes season. Byrne Takes Double at Incident Packed Oulton Park

Shane Byrne tightened his grip on the 2008 BSB lead today by taking both wins in a day of racing at Oulton Park littered by incidents.

The first race wasn’t even a lap old before being stopped after 3 incidents involving 5 riders going down. To top it off rain began to fall before the restart, giving the teams a difficult choice to make before sending their riders out again. Airwaves Ducati seemed to make the right decision, helping Shane Byrne to take the lead after just a few laps and hold on to the end despite a late push from HM Plant Honda’s Leon Haslam. Leon Camier rounded off the podium places. [read more]
