AMA Superbikes Testing in Sonoma Valley
April 4, 2008
Infineon Raceway was host to some of the top riders in the AMA Superbikes Championship this week ahead of the fourth round of the championship scheduled here for May 16-18.
The results went very much to form, with Mat Mladin once again dominating ahead of the other superbikes riders. He posted a fasted lap of 1′34.76, unofficially beating the track record set in 2008 by Mladin’s teammate Ben Spies.
Mladin, a six-time AMA Superbike champion, was followed Wednesday by teammate Tommy Hayden (1:35.28) and Yamaha’s Jason DiSalvo (1:35.77). Fourteen riders in all took part in testing of the 2.22 mile track.
